About Odd Heron

Hello everyone!

I'm an independent software engineer with a passion for technology, animation, game development, and music, and I'm the person behind Odd Heron.

I started Odd Heron with a simple goal: to build tools that make creative work easier, faster, and more accessible, while keeping humans at the heart of the creative process, especially in the age of AI.

I love experimenting, learning new things, and building software that solves real problems. That's what Odd Heron is all about.

How It All Started

I originally started developing Stage because I wanted to create my first animated film and needed a way to make the animation process easier.

What began as a personal project slowly grew into something bigger. Along the way, I realized that I wanted to share not just the tools I was building, but also my experiences, experiments, and everything I learned.

Eventually, I decided to take a chance on something I've always wanted: making a living by creating things I genuinely love.

I also believe creative software should be accessible without expensive subscriptions or unnecessary restrictions. I want to offer independent creators and small studios affordable alternatives that they can actually own and use on their own terms.

What I'm Building

My first product, Stage, is a video-based motion capture and animation editing application designed to make character animation easier and more accessible.

It runs entirely on your computer, without cloud processing, credits, or usage limits. I'm building it with the same philosophy that started Odd Heron: powerful tools should make creativity easier, not more complicated.

And hopefully, Stage is just the beginning.

Follow the Journey

I'm building Odd Heron independently and sharing the journey as I go — from new features and experiments to challenges, mistakes, and everything in between.

If you're interested in creative software, animation, or simply following an indie developer trying to turn a passion into a living, you're more than welcome to follow along.

Thanks for being here!
